Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in our financial team. This position will directly support the CFO in all financial aspects of the company, participating in strategic finance initiatives, planning and operations, and financial reporting and analysis.

Scope of the Position

Under the guidance of the CFO, the Assistant to the CFO will engage in a wide range of activities. These include assisting in the creation and adjustment of financial strategies, maintaining effective communication channels with key financial stakeholders, and contributing to the evaluation of new ventures that offer strategic value.

Functional Tasks

Strategic Finance

• Assist in crafting long-range financial plans and strategies.
• Support communication efforts with financial analysts, investors, and shareholders.
• Help identify value creation opportunities and financial risks, advising the CFO accordingly.
• Aid in managing and allocating the company's capital, in line with strategic objectives.
• Contribute to investor relations and manage relationships with financial partners and advisors.

Planning & Operations

• Collaborate with the CFO and CEO on the company’s strategic, tactical, and operational planning, encompassing annual budgeting, capital planning, and incentive plans.
• Assist in overseeing the execution of operational business plans from a financial perspective.
• Support in developing tax strategies and managing global tax planning activities.
• Help develop and monitor key performance metrics aligning with the company’s strategic direction.
• Work alongside the sales team to ensure contracts are financially beneficial and strategically aligned.
• Provide insights on financial planning, departmental budgeting, and manage financial resources efficiently.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Contribute to the creation of financial models and strategic planning for future expansion.
• Support the communication of financial and operational outcomes to key stakeholders, providing insightful qualitative analysis to improve decision-making processes

Preferred Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Commerce, or related field; Master's degree or accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, with direct exposure to strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented technology or SaaS company is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrable analytical skills with a knack for identifying opportunities for financial improvement.
• Strong understanding of financial operations and ability to assist in financial negotiations.
• Effective communicator with a collaborative spirit and a passion for driving positive change within the finance department and the company at large.
